India's tour to Australia, 2012

This was one hell of a memorable tour for India. It was one tour where no one played, where no one's form was continuous, no one clicked at the right moment and no bowler seemed capable of bowling out the opposition.

It will also be remembered for the bitter spat between Mahendra Singh Dhoni,, the captain for the men in blue and his deputy, Virender Sehwag. In fact, the whole of India also prayed incessantly for Sachin's hundredth hundred.

India played their poorest cricket in most of the matches. Some days the bowlers clicked but were not backed by the batsmen and in other cases batsmen clicked but were not supported by bowlers. In this series, we also saw the use of the rotation policy for the top order of the bating and also the stubborn attitude of our captain to drop the newly found "Tendulkar", Rohit Sharma. Rohit has a lot of potential,, no doubt, but he was not clicking and should have been rested.

We also saw the return of Irfan Pathan. Was impressed by his show. Hope he doesn't get sidelined again in the
near future.

Now coming back to the spat betwen Dhoni and Sehwag, it was one of the ugliest think which came out of the dressing room. Dhoni even went on to say that senior players were bad fielders and hence was decided to rotate them. And Sehwag bounced back by claiming that Dhoni was the captain and he alone should take all the decisions.

Further, Dhoni was even suspeneded for a match for slow over rate.
At a point, even Sahara refused to continue their contract with the Indian Cricket Team.

In all, it was a dismal show the Men in Blue and we do hope and expect for a better performance in  the Asia Cup and the matches henceforth.
